In the first quarter of 2024, the top 5 air travel apps in Africa showed diverse performance trends across downloads, active users, and revenue. Data provided by Sensor Tower reveals the key metrics for these leading applications on a unified platform.

Wakanow: Flights, Hotels, Cars saw a noticeable decline in weekly downloads from 27.7K at the beginning of January to a low of 11.5K by early March, before stabilizing around 12K towards the end of the quarter. Despite this, the app maintained a strong weekly active user base, peaking at approximately 137.6K in the last week of March.

Qatar Airways experienced a significant rise in weekly downloads, starting from 3.6K in early January and reaching a peak of 23.6K by mid-March. Correspondingly, its weekly active users increased from 23.9K to a peak of 61.5K in the same period.

Flightradar24 | Flight Tracker achieved steady weekly revenue, with figures fluctuating between $1.9K and $2.5K throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads saw a slight decrease from 10.5K in early January to around 8.2K by the end of March. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 46K to 51K.

Ethiopian Airlines showed a strong performance in weekly downloads, starting at 4.6K and peaking at 11.5K in mid-February. Weekly active users also saw a steady increase, rising from 17.5K in early January to 27.2K by the end of March.

FlySafair maintained consistent weekly downloads, averaging around 7K to 8K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users fluctuated but remained strong, peaking at approximately 50K in the final week of March.
